Senior Environmental Advisor

We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to join our team on the Albury to Parkes (A2P) section of the Inland Rail project. Senior Environmental Advisor

We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to join our team on the Albury to Parkes (A2P) section of the Inland Rail project. Based in Albury, you will be the environmental lead on the ground — providing expert advice, driving compliance, and helping us deliver this critical piece of national infrastructure with care for the communities and landscapes we work in.

The Role
  • Lead day-to-day environmental management on site, ensuring compliance with the project Environmental Management Plan (EMP), Conditions of Approval, and all relevant legislation
  • Conduct environmental inductions, toolbox talks, and on-site training for construction crews
  • Undertake routine environmental inspections and audits; identify non-conformances and drive corrective actions

  • Prepare and review environmental documentation including monitoring reports, incident reports, and method statements
  • Liaise with regulators, the client (ARTC), and community stakeholders on environmental matters
  • Mentor and guide junior environmental staff on the project
What you'll bring
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5+ years of environmental advisory experience on major civil infrastructure or linear projects
  • Sound working knowledge of NSW/VIC environmental legislation, biodiversity frameworks, and planning approval conditions
  • Demonstrated experience working with EMPs, SubPlans, and regulatory compliance frameworks on construction projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with site crews, clients, and regulators
Desirable
  • Experience on rail, road, or other linear infrastructure projects in NSW or VIC
  • Familiarity with ARTC or Inland Rail project requirements
